Dr. Gordon Duval
Pediatrician
Dr. Gordon Duval is a board-certified pediatrician by the American Board of Pediatrics and a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He was introduced to the world of healthcare in 2001 when he became an Emergency Medical Technician at the age of 17.
He serves as Mountain West Medical Center’s Chief of Pediatrics, Nursery Director, and Chief of Staff. He is a credentialed Child Abuse Specialist with Primary Children’s Hospital and volunteers at the Tooele County Children’s Justice Center to care for children suffering from abuse and neglect.
He graduated from Brigham Young University with a bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Science, fostering a passion for healthy living and promoting lifestyle changes to achieve optimal well-being.
He was born in Provo and raised chiefly in Orem. He now resides in Stansbury Park with his wife and five children. His hobbies include swimming, Ballroom dancing, and being outside.
His leading function is that of a primary care pediatrician. He enjoys facilitating healing and improved functioning in children who struggle with infections, asthma, learning disorders, developmental delays, genetic disorders, ADHD, autism, anxiety, depression, failure to thrive, and childhood obesity.
Dr. Duval believes the ideal pediatrician functions as a healer and a teacher. For this reason, he enjoys working with new parents as they navigate the challenges and celebrate the happy moments of motherhood and fatherhood.
Emi Darley
DNP-FNP
Emi Darley is a board-certified family practice nurse practitioner. She has been in medicine for over a decade and is passionate about working in pediatrics and women’s health.
As a middle schooler, Emi decided she wanted to care for children as she listened to her dad talk about his experience with patients at the Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. It was at this age she decided to pursue nursing, and she received her bachelor’s in nursing from the University of Utah.
Emi’s nursing experience began at Primary Children’s Hospital where she soon realized she wanted to become a provider to help kids at an even greater capacity. She then enrolled at Bradley University and received her DNP-FNP.
Emi is happy to serve the community she lives in. She moved into the Tooele Valley 4.5 years ago and quickly fell in love with the people. She now lives here with her husband, 3 kids, and mini bernedoodle, Joey. She enjoys reading, going on runs, and spending time with her family.
Angela DeMoss
PMHNP
Angela “Michelle” DeMoss, has been a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner since 2013, As a highly skilled nurse practitioner with over 11 years of experience in the field, she is eager to bring her expertise to Mountain West Pediatrics. Michelle has had extensive experience with children (as young as 3 years old) adolescent, and adult populations, including the seriously and persistently mentally ill.
Michelle graduated in 2013, Magna Cum Laude from the University of Utah College of Nursing, Nurse Practitioner Program, and from the University of Utah College of Nursing, Summa Cum Laude, in 2005 with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Michelle is nationally accredited through the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She also has her Medication Assisted Treatment Certification for Suboxone assisted opioid withdrawal and her Clozapine REMS Certification for safe administration of clozapine.
Michelle has worked in numerous psychiatric settings including community mental health clinics, outpatient clinics, Tele-Health, inpatient eating disorders, adolescent residential treatment centers, wilderness programs, intensive outpatient programs, partial hospitalization programs, crisis stabilization units, and inpatient acute psychiatric hospitals.
Michelle is a skilled clinician and has experience with full psychiatric assessment, evaluation and diagnosis, acute psychiatric stabilization, psychotropic medication management, and general medical assessment and evaluation.
Michelle has worked with varied mental health diagnoses including but not limited to, depression, anxiety, bipolar disorders, PTSD, ADHD, autism spectrum disorders and other neuro-diverse diagnoses, eating disorders, for both males and females, obsessive-compulsive disorders, personality disorders, substance use disorders, and schizophrenic and other psychotic disorders.
Michelle is the mother of 3 adult children and one 14-year-old daughter. She welcomed her first grandson in September of 2022. She lives with her husband, youngest daughter, and a menagerie of rescued animals in Stansbury Park, UT. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her family and watching her daughter’s equestrian events.
Suzie Dow
CPNP-PC
Suzie received her Bachelor’s in Nursing from Weber State University and has practiced as a Nurse for 15 years, 8 years of that time was spent in Labor & Delivery/Newborn Nursery.
She received her Masters in Nursing as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee and is certified with the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board.
Suzie enjoys all aspects of Pediatric primary care, but she has special interest in Mental Health and is currently working towards becoming certified as a Pediatric Mental Health Specialist.
Suzie is married to a pretty amazing husband and they have 5 kids together that keep them super busy. She enjoys camping, hiking, relaxing at the lake, coaching soccer, and quiet moments that happen occasionally.
Katie Wardenburg
FNP
Katie Wardenburg is a board-certified family nurse practitioner with a passion for women’s health and pediatrics and is thrilled to be a part of the practice and provide patient-centered care. She has had a long history of working in healthcare and with pediatric patients.
She initially graduated from Utah State University in Nutrition Sciences and began working at Primary Children’s until she went back to school to become a nurse. She graduated from Westminster College with her BSN and continued working with pediatrics in the PICU and NICU until she moved to North Carolina to pursue becoming a nurse practitioner. She graduated from UNC Chapel Hill with her Doctorate in Nursing Practice and moved back to Utah to join Mountain West Pediatrics.
She was born in Murray and grew up in Salt Lake valley but now lives in West Valley City with her husband, toddler, and pup. In her free time, she enjoys skiing, hiking, camping, and traveling.
She prefers to take a holistic approach when caring for her patients and consider all factors that influence health and well-being. When working in pediatrics, she believes that education and collaboration with the caregivers is vital in providing patient-centered care and improving outcomes.
